About the Role
Our client, a progressive environmental and civil engineering consultancy, is looking for a skilled Drainage Engineer to join their growing team, remotely based with occasional site visits. This role is vital for developing sustainable water management solutions and ensuring effective drainage systems for a variety of developments. You will be responsible for designing surface water drainage, foul water systems, and flood risk assessments, contributing to environmentally sound projects. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement surface water management strategies, including SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems).
- Develop foul water drainage designs and network calculations in accordance with relevant standards.
- Prepare flood risk assessments (FRAs) and drainage strategy reports.
- Undertake hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software such as MicroDrainage or SWMM.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate drainage solutions seamlessly into overall development plans.
- Liaise with statutory bodies, including Lead Local Flood Authorities and water companies.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years' experience specifically in drainage engineering .
- Proficiency with drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage WinDes).
- Sound understanding of flood risk assessment methodologies and sustainable drainage principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client liaison.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
