About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join their innovative team, operating on a fully remote basis. This role is crucial for the design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and wastewater management solutions for a variety of development projects. You will leverage your expertise to address environmental challenges and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to greener and more resilient infrastructure. Working remotely, you will collaborate with design teams, local authorities, and clients to deliver effective and environmentally conscious drainage strategies, making a tangible impact from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop surface water and foul water drainage strategies, incorporating SuDS principles.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and modeling for drainage networks using industry-standard software.
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and reports for drainage schemes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, lead local flood authorities, and utility companies to secure approvals for drainage designs.
- Provide expert advice on flood risk assessments and mitigation measures for development sites.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience focused on drainage design and flood risk assessment.
- Proficiency in drainage design software such as MicroDrainage (WinDes) or similar.
- Good understanding of UK drainage legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
