About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Drilling Fluids Engineer to join their remote operations team, serving the Oil & Gas industry . This specialist role is critical for the successful and safe execution of drilling operations, focusing on the design, management, and optimization of drilling fluid systems. You will ensure drilling fluids meet the complex technical requirements of various formations and drilling conditions, thereby enhancing drilling efficiency and wellbore integrity. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing your specialized expertise to global projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well conditions and geological objectives.
- Supervise drilling fluid operations at the rig site (remotely or through site visits as needed).
- Monitor fluid properties and performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize drilling efficiency and minimize costs.
- Troubleshoot drilling fluid-related problems, such as lost circulation, shale instability, and formation damage.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding drilling fluid disposal and management.
- Conduct performance reviews of drilling fluid products and service providers.
- Provide technical support and recommendations to drilling engineers and rig personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer or in a closely related role within the Oil & Gas sector .
- In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and hydraulics.
- Experience with various types of drilling fluids (water-based, oil-based, synthetic-based).
- Familiarity with wellbore stability and formation damage mechanisms.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills for a remote work environment.
