About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Drilling Operations Supervisor to oversee drilling activities in the North East of England . This critical role involves direct supervision of drilling crews and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective well construction operations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of drilling programs, adhering to strict safety standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of drilling techniques, equipment, and challenges specific to onshore operations in the Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all aspects of the drilling operations on-site, ensuring adherence to the drilling program.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Monitor drilling progress, equipment performance, and resource allocation.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions promptly and effectively.
• Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and other support functions to ensure timely delivery of resources.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture among the drilling crew.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Drilling Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within Oil & Gas .
• In-depth knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and well control procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IWCF) are highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work **onshore locations** as required by project demands in Newcastle upon Tyne .
