Drilling Supervisor - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting an experienced Drilling Supervisor for their exploration projects based near Southampton . This role is essential for the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations aimed at discovering and evaluating mineral resources. You will be responsible for ensuring drilling activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards, managing drilling crews and equipment effectively. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of various drilling techniques relevant to mineral exploration.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all aspects of exploration drilling operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Plan drilling programs in conjunction with geologists, including site selection, drill rig allocation, and logistical support.
• Oversee the performance of drilling crews, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Ensure all drilling equipment is maintained in good working order and that operational logs are accurately kept.
• Monitor drilling progress, costs, and resource utilization, reporting key metrics to management.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Drilling Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within mineral exploration.
• Strong knowledge of various drilling methods, including core drilling, reverse circulation, and directional drilling.
• Experience with geological logging and sample recovery protocols.
• Proven ability to manage drilling crews and equipment in challenging field conditions.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote exploration sites.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
