About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Drug Safety Physician to join their global pharmacovigilance department in Reading . This office-based role is crucial for ensuring the ongoing safety of our marketed pharmaceutical products. You will lead the medical assessment of adverse event data, contribute to signal detection and management, and provide medical input for regulatory submissions and safety communications. Your medical expertise will be paramount in safeguarding public health and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical expertise for the evaluation of adverse event reports and safety data.
- Lead the medical assessment of potential safety signals and contribute to risk management strategies.
- Review and approve safety sections of regulatory documents, including Investigator's Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, and periodic safety update reports.
- Collaborate with clinical development, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs teams on safety-related issues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management plans (RMPs).
- Act as a medical contact point for health authorities on pharmacovigilance matters.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent medical degree.
- Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Pharmacology, Toxicology).
- Significant experience (5+ years) in pharmacovigilance or drug safety within the pharmaceutical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations and methodologies.
- Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly.
