Drug Safety Physician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Drug Safety Physician to join their global pharmacovigilance team, working remotely. This critical role involves providing medical expertise for the assessment of adverse event data, signal detection, and risk management strategies for our client's pharmaceutical portfolio. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines by evaluating potential safety concerns and contributing to regulatory submissions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct medical reviews of individual adverse event case reports.
• Lead the medical assessment of safety signals and contribute to signal evaluation reports.
• Provide medical input for the development of risk management plans (RMPs) and risk evaluation and mitigation strategies (REMS).
• Review and contribute to periodic safety update reports (PSURs/PBRERs) and other regulatory safety documents.
• Collaborate with internal teams (regulatory affairs, clinical development, medical affairs) on safety-related issues.
• Serve as a medical expert on pharmacovigilance matters to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (M.D.) or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety, including medical review.
• In-depth knowledge of drug safety principles, regulations (FDA, EMA), and GVP guidelines.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for medical assessment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for remote and in-person interactions.
