Drug Safety Physician

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Drug Safety Physician to join their global pharmacovigilance team. This fully remote role offers the critical responsibility of ensuring the safe use of pharmaceutical products by overseeing the assessment and management of adverse events and safety profiles. You will provide expert medical judgment on safety matters, contribute to regulatory submissions, and liaise with health authorities. This is a vital role for a physician with a strong background in pharmacology or clinical medicine and a deep understanding of pharmacovigilance principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical expertise in the assessment and evaluation of adverse event reports and safety data.
• Contribute to the development and review of aggregate safety reports (e.g., DSURs, PBRERs).
• Participate in risk management activities, including the development and implementation of Risk Management Plans (RMPs).
• Liaise with regulatory authorities on drug safety matters and respond to safety-related inquiries.
• Support the medical review of safety data from clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance.
• Advise on safety aspects related to new drug development and product lifecycle management.

Requirements

• Medical degree (M.D. or equivalent) with specialization or significant experience in clinical medicine.
• Board certification or equivalent in a relevant specialty is desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drug safety or pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of global regulatory requirements for drug safety and pharmacovigilance.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial conduct and pharmaceutical development.
• Excellent medical judgment, analytical skills, and written/verbal communication abilities.
