E-commerce Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced E-commerce Operations Manager to oversee their online sales operations from Southampton . This critical role ensures the seamless functioning of the e-commerce platform, from order processing and inventory management to fulfillment and customer service. You will be instrumental in optimizing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing the overall customer experience. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of supply chain logistics, e-commerce technology, and has a proven ability to manage complex operational challenges in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role that requires leadership and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day e-commerce operations, including order management, fulfillment, shipping, and returns.
• Optimize inventory management processes to minimize stockouts and reduce carrying costs.
• Liaise with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure efficient warehousing and distribution.
• Implement and refine operational workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Monitor key operational metrics (e.g., order accuracy, on-time delivery, cost per order) and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies regarding online sales and logistics.

Requirements

• Proven experience in e-commerce operations management or a related logistics/supply chain role.
• Strong understanding of order management systems (OMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory control principles.
• Experience working with 3PL partners and managing shipping carriers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in relevant e-commerce software and data analysis tools.
