About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled E-commerce Platform Developer to join their technology team in Glasgow . You will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of their core e-commerce platform, ensuring a robust, scalable, and high-performing online shopping experience. This role requires strong technical expertise in web development, a deep understanding of e-commerce architecture, and the ability to work collaboratively with product managers and designers to implement new features and improvements. You will play a vital role in shaping the future of our client's digital presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy new features and functionalities for the e-commerce website using modern web technologies.
- Maintain and improve the performance, security, and scalability of the existing e-commerce platform.
- Integrate third-party applications and services (e.g., payment gateways, shipping providers, marketing tools).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the e-commerce platform and online store.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in web development , with a strong focus on e-commerce platforms.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, PHP, Python) and frameworks.
- Experience with headless commerce architectures and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Solid understanding of database management (SQL, NoSQL) and API integrations.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
