Key Responsibilities
- Drive the creation and expansion of apprenticeship opportunities across the council and schools through an insight-led and outreach-focused approach.
- Lead the design, implementation and ongoing management of work experience, internship and other early careers programmes.
- Analyse and interpret workforce data to identify skills shortages, workforce trends and future talent requirements, using these insights to influence workforce planning and programme development.
- Work in partnership with Strategic HR Business Partners and the Strategic Recruitment Lead to develop talent and succession strategies that support organisational priorities.
- Manage relationships with apprenticeship training providers, including commissioning provision and negotiating service agreements.
- Take responsibility for the management and optimisation of the Apprenticeship Levy account, managing funding of approximately £1 million per annum.
- Ensure apprenticeship systems and records are maintained accurately and remain compliant with funding requirements.
- Lead and develop a team of two Early Careers Advisors, providing coaching, guidance and performance management.
- Produce high-quality reports, analysis and commentary on apprenticeship performance, early careers activity and talent pipeline outcomes.
- Embed equality, diversity and inclusion considerations into all programme design, delivery and evaluation activities.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote career pathways and maximise engagement.
