Early Years Practitioner - Play-Based Learning

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner dedicated to play-based learning for their setting in Leeds . This role focuses on creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow through exploration, creativity, and social interaction. You will be responsible for observing children's interests, planning engaging activities that support their development across all early learning areas, and ensuring a safe and inclusive atmosphere. We are looking for a passionate educator who believes in the power of play to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver creative, play-based learning experiences that cater to individual children's needs and interests.
• Observe and document children's progress, identifying learning opportunities and areas for development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative approach to childcare.
• Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through intentional play and interaction.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the setting.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in childcare or early years education (e.g., Level 3 NVQ).
• Experience working with young children in an early years setting.
• A deep understanding and passion for play-based learning methodologies.
• Excellent communication and observation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team in Leeds .
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
