Early Years SEN Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Years SEN Support Worker to join their inclusive nursery in Plymouth . This vital role involves providing specialized support to young children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive and develop within a supportive and stimulating environment. You will work closely with the nursery's SENCO, educators, and parents to implement individual support plans, adapt activities, and promote the holistic development of each child. The ideal candidate will possess a patient, empathetic, and proactive approach, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive setting where every child feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to children with identified SEN, assisting with their learning, development, and care needs.
• Implement tailored strategies and activities designed to meet individual children's needs and developmental goals.
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO and teaching staff to monitor children's progress and contribute to educational plans.
• Assist with personal care routines when necessary, ensuring dignity and respect for all children.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment, encouraging social interaction and participation for all children.

Requirements

• Experience working with children, preferably in an early years setting.
• An understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and associated challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with children and families.
• Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude towards supporting children's learning.
• A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3) is advantageous.
