Early Years SEND Practitioner

About the Role

Our client is looking for a compassionate and skilled Early Years SEND Practitioner to join their inclusive nursery in Cambridge . This specialized role focuses on supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to ensure they receive the highest quality of care and education. You will work closely with the nursery team, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement tailored support plans, enabling every child to reach their full potential. This is a vital role within a supportive environment, contributing significantly to inclusive early years education in Cambridgeshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to children with SEND, implementing individual education and care plans.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external specialists (e.g., speech therapists, OTs) to meet children's needs.
• Adapt activities and resources to ensure accessibility and engagement for children with diverse learning requirements.
• Observe, document, and track the progress of children with SEND, providing regular feedback.
• Advise and support other nursery staff in implementing inclusive practices and strategies.
• Maintain a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment that promotes the holistic development of all children.

Requirements

• Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education or SEND.
• Experience working with children with SEND in an early years setting.
• In-depth understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and specific SEND legislation and guidance.
• Excellent communication, observation, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A strong commitment to inclusive education and child development.
