Job Description
Earthworks Supervisor
Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join their team on a major highway infrastructure scheme.
Responsibilities
* Supervise day-to-day earthworks and groundworks activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.
* Oversee excavation, cut and fill, embankments, grading, compaction, formation works, and associated civils.
* Lead site teams, plant operators, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, RAMS, permits, and project requirements.
* Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and site access to maintain productivity.
* Monitor quality, progress, levels, tolerances, and earthworks testing.
* Work closely with the Site Manager, Engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
* Promote a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture.
* Complete site records, inspections, briefings, and toolbox talks.
Requirements
* Previous experience as an Earthworks Supervisor, Groundworks Supervisor, Earthworks Foreman, or similar.
* Strong experience in earthworks and civil engineering projects, ideally on highway or infrastructure schemes.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and RAMS.
* Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
* Good understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
* Gold CSCS required.
* SMSTS or SSSTS required.
* First Aid qualification required.
* Previous experience working on highway schemes is highly desirable.
* NRSWA, Temporary Works, or other relevant highway qualifications would be advantageous.
