Are you passionate about making a real difference for children and young people?

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be an Edge of Care Residential Worker in our Edge of Care Service and established short break home that has been consistently rated Good by Ofsted.

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring person who shares our passion for supporting our most vulnerable children, to join our service that works with families at times of crisis to help prevent their children coming into care, as well as supporting the young people in the home to restore and rebuild relationships.

The Role

As a Residential Edge of Care Worker, you will be required to work as part of an outreach support service which also offers short breaks to young people. You will support children, young people and their families with a robust package of support that will include community outreach, and overnight short break stays to prevent children and young people from entering care.

What's needed?

As part of this role, you will be expected to work evenings, weekend and complete sleep-in shifts.

This role can be challenging, rewarding and we are looking for people that are flexible, motivated, and resilient. The right candidate will be highly skilled, be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team as well as being able to work unsupervised within the community.

The right candidate will have the ability to meet the travel needs of the post. Have access to a car with business insurance or the ability to acquire business insurance as the post will involve transporting children, young people and families.

Along with a competitive salary you will be paid enhancements at 20% or 30%, sleep-in rates and mileage allowances that will enhance your salary. You will have access to an extensive training package with development opportunities. You must hold or be willing to work towards relevant qualifications.

Applicants must meet 'essential' criteria as outlined in the person specification.

The ability to converse at ease with people within the home, external professionals and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
