Educational Psychologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Educational Psychologist to join their dedicated support services team, serving schools across Sheffield . You will provide specialist psychological assessment, consultation, and intervention to support the learning, behaviour, and emotional well-being of children and young people. This crucial role involves working collaboratively with schools, parents, and other professionals to address complex needs and promote positive outcomes for all students within the South Yorkshire area, contributing to a holistic approach to child development and educational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of children and young people to identify learning, behavioural, and emotional needs.
• Provide consultation and support to teachers, parents, and other professionals on psychological matters related to education.
• Develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions and support strategies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide policies on well-being and inclusion.
• Undertake statutory assessments for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments and interventions.

Requirements

• A recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology (Masters or Doctorate).
• HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist.
• Significant experience working with children and young people in an educational setting.
• Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills.
• Strong consultation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and ethical guidelines in psychology and education within the UK.
