The Opportunity
Are you an experience EHS Manager looking to take ownership of the Health, Safety and Environmental compliance within a busy manufacturing facility in beautiful Devon? The company are a long-standing, globally recognised manufacturer with an excellent reputation in their industry. Following continued business growth and site development plans, they are now looking to bring an experienced and proactive HSE professional into their team. Within the role, you will oversee site-wide EHS processes, drive compliance with UK legislation, and support the ongoing development of safe, effective and environmentally responsible working practices.
The Role
- Managing existing and developing improved site Environment, Health and Safety systems, processes and procedures within an expanding manufacturing facility who use various chemicals within their production processes.
- Providing professional support, information, continuous improvement and practical advice in all EHS matters.
- Effectively working with managers and supervisors to ensure that our EH&S systems, arrangements and practices are applied effectively, especially focusing on risk assessment support.
- Leading the preparation for and participation in audits with standard organisations and regulatory bodies, namely ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environment).
- Maintaining overall accountability for the Effluent Plant, ensuring all analysis and control measures meet statutory and company requirements.
- Advising on a range of specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, environmental compliance.
What you will bring to the Role
- Minimum of 4 years proven Environmental, Health and Safety experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Internal Auditor Training to lead audits for ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environment).
- Experience in effluent and chemical management is a distinct advantage: COSHH and specific technical knowledge of water treatment processes and wastewater discharge consents.
- Fire safety management is an advantage: Understanding fire risk assessments and fire warden leadership.
