About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Care Assistant to provide exceptional support to senior citizens within the Plymouth community. This role is focused on enabling elderly individuals to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes or in supported living environments. You will offer a blend of practical assistance, emotional support, and companionship, fostering a sense of well-being and connection. Key Responsibilities
- Assist elderly clients with personal care needs, including hygiene, dressing, and medication reminders.
- Provide support with household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Offer companionship, engage in conversation, and facilitate social interaction to reduce isolation.
- Monitor clients' health and well-being, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the care coordinator.
- Assist clients in attending appointments, activities, or maintaining social connections within the community.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for all clients.
Requirements
- Previous experience in elderly care or a similar role is preferred.
- A kind, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a high level of trustworthiness.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and work collaboratively with the care team.
- Must have the ability to travel within the Plymouth area.
