Electrical Assembly and Test Technician
Salary to £ 40,560 per year (equivalent up to £20.00 per hour) Overtime paid at time-and-a-half Permanent Position, Factory-based Location: in the Cambourne - St. Neots area, Bedfordshire 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30 start with an early finish every Friday (12:00 midday) Rural / out-of-town location - own transport required
A leading manufacturer of bespoke food processing systems is recruiting an Electrical Assembly and Test Technician.
You'll be wiring complete machines, carrying out functional testing/I-O checks, basic fault-finding, and supporting electrical work across the factory.
Key duties
Machine wiring (sensors, motors, actuators, interconnects) Read schematics/layout drawings/BOMs Functional testing + basic fault-finding Assist with installs, upgrades and improvement projects
Essential
Machine wiring/industrial electrical assembly background Confident reading drawings and fault diagnosis Experience with DOL and VFD systems Good teamwork and attention to quality/safety
Desirable
18th Edition PLC/HMI exposure Installation experience
Career Progression
Development routes available into Controls Engineering (PLC/HMI), Test & Validation, Electrical Design (EPLAN/BOMs/layouts) and Commissioning (UK & international).
Hours & Overtime:
39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (early finish Friday) Overtime generally available and paid at 1.5x (Mon-Fri and Saturday mornings)
