Electrical Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Control Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Derby, Derbyshire . Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI systems for automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Develop and implement complex control strategies to optimise system performance, efficiency, and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and operations staff, to define system requirements and integrate new solutions.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation, including electrical schematics, ladder logic, and user manuals.
• Stay current with advancements in automation technology and recommend improvements to existing systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering , Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing, programming, and commissioning PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Strong knowledge of HMI/SCADA software, industrial networks, and robotics.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote tasks.
