About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join their innovative team in Sheffield . This role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of electrical control systems for automated machinery and bespoke manufacturing solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers, to deliver integrated and efficient automation systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control panel layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Select and specify appropriate control components, PLCs, HMIs, drives, and sensors.
- Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMIs for various automation tasks.
- Implement and test control logic, ensuring functionality, safety, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and servicing of automated systems.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in electrical control system design and PLC programming.
- Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software for electrical design (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical).
- Strong understanding of industrial automation principles and practices.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards and implementation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
