About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous Electrical Design Engineer to join their thriving team in Leeds , focusing on building services . This role is essential for the successful delivery of electrical systems within diverse construction projects, from commercial developments to residential complexes. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical designs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and client specifications. Working primarily from our Leeds office, you'll collaborate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers, contributing to the creation of safe, efficient, and sustainable built environments. This on-site role emphasizes direct teamwork and hands-on project engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications for building services using CAD and BIM software.
- Conduct electrical load assessments, lighting designs, and power distribution system planning.
- Ensure designs comply with current BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and other relevant building standards.
- Collaborate with site teams during the construction phase to resolve design issues and ensure accurate implementation.
- Perform site surveys and inspections to gather information and verify installation quality.
- Assist in the tender process by providing technical input and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with utility providers and other stakeholders to coordinate service connections and infrastructure requirements.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design, specifically within the building services sector.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and a good understanding of Revit MEP for BIM projects.
- Knowledge of electrical installation methods, components, and relevant building codes and standards.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team on construction sites.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate design documentation.
