Electrical Design Engineer - Power Distribution

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Leeds , contributing to the development and enhancement of critical power distribution networks. You will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical designs for a range of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics and layouts for power distribution systems.
• Specify electrical components, equipment, and materials for projects.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant national and international electrical standards.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather data and verify existing installations.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and tender documentation.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in electrical design, specifically within power distribution or utilities.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Strong knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., BS 7671).
• Experience with protection and earthing systems is advantageous.
• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
