About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their established engineering team in Nottingham . This role is central to the design and development of electrical systems for a variety of exciting industrial and commercial projects. You will work collaboratively with experienced engineers and project managers, contributing to the technical success of projects from initial concept through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer to develop their skills and contribute to meaningful work within a supportive, on-site team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panels, according to project requirements.
- Perform electrical calculations such as load analysis, voltage drop, and short-circuit studies.
- Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials for design implementation.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications and bills of materials.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and site personnel to ensure design integration and feasibility.
- Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems during project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
- Proficiency in using ECAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar.
- Good understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, and relevant industry standards (e.g., BS 7671).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities for an office-based role.
