Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Southampton . This role is essential for the development and refinement of electrical components and systems that power our client's cutting-edge products. You will play a key part in the entire design cycle, from conceptualization to final implementation, working within a collaborative and dynamic engineering department. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical circuits and systems according to project specifications.
• Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using CAD software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure seamless integration.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical issues encountered during development or testing.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
• Document designs, test results, and technical specifications thoroughly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in electrical system design or development.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Eagle, KiCad, Altium).
• Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, power supplies, and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with testing procedures and use of electronic measurement equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
