About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their established engineering division based in Coventry, West Midlands, UK . This role is critical for the conceptualization and detailed design of electrical components and systems for a range of industrial applications. You will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions, working closely with manufacturing and project teams to bring designs from concept to reality. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating robust, efficient electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software.
- Specify electrical components, materials, and equipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems within larger product designs.
- Prepare technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), design reports, and testing procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues during the manufacturing and testing phases.
- Contribute to design reviews and provide technical support to the production and engineering teams in Coventry .
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, with a portfolio of successful design projects.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar design software.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards (e.g., BS 7671), and safety regulations.
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI design is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
