Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proficient Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering department in Birmingham . This role is crucial for the conceptualization and detailed design of electrical infrastructure for a variety of industrial and commercial projects. You will play a key role in translating project requirements into robust, efficient, and compliant electrical designs, ensuring seamless integration with overall project goals. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings, specifications, and bill of materials using industry-standard software.
• Perform load calculations, circuit design, and panel layout for power distribution systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with UK electrical regulations, such as BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
• Collaborate with project managers and site engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs in Birmingham .
• Conduct site surveys and assess existing electrical installations for potential upgrades or integration.
• Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams and clients during project execution.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, with a portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in schematic design software (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical) and calculation tools.
• Strong understanding of low and high voltage systems, motor control, and lighting design.
• Knowledge of relevant UK and international electrical standards and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple design tasks concurrently.
