Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Plymouth . This role is integral to the creation and refinement of electrical systems for a range of innovative projects. You will contribute to the full design lifecycle, from conceptualisation and schematic design through to component selection and testing. Working closely with a dedicated team of engineers, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and develop your career in a supportive and challenging environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics and wiring harnesses for new and existing products.
• Select appropriate electronic components and ensure their compatibility and performance.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including bills of materials, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready and cost-effective.
• Perform validation and verification testing of electrical designs, identifying and resolving any issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and processes within the electrical engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in product development.
• Proficiency with CAD software for schematic capture (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle).
• Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics principles.
• Experience with PCB layout and design considerations is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to detail.
