About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their team based in Southampton . In this role, you will be responsible for creating and refining electrical designs for new products and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards. You will work closely with manufacturing, testing, and project management teams to bring innovative electrical solutions to life. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software.
- Specify electrical components and ensure compliance with technical requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Perform design calculations and simulations to verify the functionality and performance of electrical designs.
- Support the prototyping, testing, and validation phases of product development.
- Investigate and resolve design-related issues encountered during manufacturing and field deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 2-4 years of experience in electrical design or systems engineering.
- Proficiency in using electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical.
- Understanding of power electronics, control systems, and embedded systems principles.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
