About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Plymouth . This role is focused on creating detailed electrical designs for a variety of industrial and commercial projects. You will be responsible for producing high-quality schematics, layouts, and specifications, ensuring designs are compliant with all relevant standards and regulations. This hybrid position offers a balanced approach, allowing for collaborative work in the office and focused design efforts remotely, contributing to key projects within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical design drawings, including schematics, single-line diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Specify electrical equipment and components, ensuring they meet project requirements and budget constraints.
- Perform electrical calculations such as load assessments, voltage drop, and fault current analysis.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards, IET Wiring Regulations, and other applicable codes.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Review and approve designs submitted by third-party contractors and suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, preferably within industrial or building services sectors.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and MS Office Suite.
- Good understanding of power distribution, control systems, and low-voltage systems.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills suitable for a hybrid working environment.
