Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and creative Electrical Design Engineer to join their innovative engineering department in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and layouts for new products and systems.
• Perform component selection and power calculations, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines to define project requirements and timelines.
• Conduct design verification and validation testing, documenting results and addressing any discrepancies.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, manufacturing instructions, and user manuals.
• Support the production team by resolving any electrical design-related queries or issues during manufacturing.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within an industrial or product development context.
• Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design, such as AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
• Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
• Knowledge of relevant UK and international electrical standards and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
