About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding operations in Coventry, West Midlands, UK . You will be responsible for the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept and specification to detailed design and technical support. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications for new installations and system upgrades using CAD software.
- Perform power system analysis, including load forecasting, fault current calculations, and protection coordination studies.
- Specify and select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials, ensuring compatibility and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and site personnel to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather information for design development and to verify existing installations in and around Coventry .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing context.
- Proficiency in using electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical) and simulation tools.
- Thorough understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations applicable in the UK.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail in design work.
