Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their established team in Coventry, West Midlands . This role is central to the design and development of innovative electrical solutions for a diverse range of industrial and commercial applications. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, specifications, and ensuring all designs meet stringent industry standards and client requirements. Working closely with the project management and manufacturing teams, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects from initial concept through to final implementation, supporting the company's commitment to engineering excellence in the heart of the UK's industrial landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and control panel layouts using CAD software.
• Specify electrical components, materials, and equipment, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
• Perform electrical calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and software developers to integrate electrical systems.
• Support manufacturing and testing phases, troubleshooting design-related issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation and revision control.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or in a similar design role.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software for electrical design (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD).
• Solid understanding of electrical codes , standards, and safety regulations.
• Experience with PLC programming and HMI design is advantageous.
