Electrical Design Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Technician to join their team in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role involves supporting the electrical engineering department by preparing technical drawings, schematics, and documentation based on design specifications and concepts. You will work closely with Electrical Engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of all design outputs, contributing to the successful execution of projects. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software according to engineering standards.
• Assist in the creation and modification of technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers to translate design concepts into accurate and constructible drawings.
• Ensure all technical drawings and documentation comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Conduct quality checks on design documentation to identify and rectify any errors or omissions.
• Support site engineers and construction teams by providing necessary design clarifications and information.

Requirements

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Technician or Draughtsperson, preferably within an industrial or building services context.
• Proficiency in CAD software , such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and components.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
