Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, and power distribution networks, for various energy projects.
• Conduct power flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination to ensure system stability and safety.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using CAD software.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems on-site.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements and compliance are met.
• Perform site inspections and provide technical support during the construction and operational phases of projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E) and CAD tools.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).
• Experience with protection relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and other power system components.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
