About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a talented Electrical Engineer with a specialization in power systems to join their thriving team in Birmingham . This role is critical for the design, development, and implementation of electrical infrastructure supporting diverse energy projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of power distribution and generation systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, and power distribution networks, for various energy projects.
- Conduct power flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination to ensure system stability and safety.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using CAD software.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems on-site.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements and compliance are met.
- Perform site inspections and provide technical support during the construction and operational phases of projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E) and CAD tools.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).
- Experience with protection relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and other power system components.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
