Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for smart grid applications, including distributed energy resources (DER) integration.
- Analyze grid performance data and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, reliability, and stability.
- Develop control strategies and algorithms for grid optimization and demand-side management.
- Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to integrate intelligent control systems and communication protocols.
- Conduct simulations and modeling of grid behavior under various operating conditions using specialized software.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project proposals for stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a focus on power systems.
- 2-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with exposure to smart grid , power electronics, or renewable energy integration.
- Familiarity with power system analysis tools and simulation software.
- Understanding of communication protocols used in smart grids (e.g., DNP3, Modbus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of UK energy market regulations and standards is a plus.
