Location: Nottingham Salary: £32,000–£42,000 Working pattern: Hybrid – two days working from home Employment: Permanent, full-time

A well-established, privately owned building services consultancy is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its Nottingham team.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers, Revit technicians and building physics specialists, delivering projects from early feasibility through to detailed, coordinated design.

The consultancy works across education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, defence, justice, leisure and residential developments. Projects range from refurbishments and smaller local schemes to technically complex facilities requiring detailed electrical and infrastructure design.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing LV distribution, lighting, small power, fire alarm and security systems

*

Producing calculations, specifications, reports and coordinated design information

*

Preparing electrical load assessments and utility connection applications

*

Delivering projects across RIBA Stages 0–5

*

Coordinating designs with mechanical engineers, Revit technicians and external project teams

*

Attending client meetings, design-team meetings, site surveys and inspections

*

Reviewing drawings and technical submissions during construction

Your experience

You should have:

Electrical building services design experience within a consultancy or similar environment

*

A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in electrical or building services engineering

*

Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and relevant industry guidance

*

Experience using electrical design software such as Amtech and Relux

*

Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM-led design processes

*

The confidence to communicate with clients, contractors and other design disciplines

Professional membership would be beneficial but is not essential. Support will be available for continued development and progression towards professional accreditation.
