Electrical Engineer (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home)
Rate: £50-55 per hour
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a specialist engineering team on a 12-month fixed-term contract with hydrid working available. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging single point mooring (SPM) projects supporting FPSO and FSO facilities within the oil & gas sector.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering documentation, supporting vendors and site teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Ex equipment datasheets.
- Develop and maintain electrical load lists.
- Perform cable sizing and voltage drop calculations.
- Prepare and review specifications for electrical equipment and LV switchboards.
- Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Liaise with equipment vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support and interface with site teams where required.
About You
- Around 5+ years' experience in electrical engineering (applications from more experienced engineers are welcome).
- Experience within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or a similar process industry.
- Good understanding of industrial communication networks.
- Strong knowledge of IEC 60079 standards.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience preparing technical documentation and managing engineering spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Desirable Experience
- Instrumentation engineering.
- LV switchboard packages.
- Offshore project knowledge
- FPSO or FSO projects.
- Single point mooring (SPM) systems.
- Working with classification societies.
