Electrical Estimator
Bedfordshire
£55,000 - £65,000 + 0TE £70K + Company Vehicle + Bonus + Progression + Social Events + Annual leave + Pension + MORE
This is a well-established M&E contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality building services projects across the South East. Working across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, they have built long-standing relationships with a wide range of clients through their commitment to quality, safety and reliable project delivery.
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive tenders across a range of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, working closely with the commercial and delivery teams to secure new business.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and competitive electrical estimates for residential, commercial and mixed-use projects.
Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to produce detailed cost estimates.
Complete material take-offs and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Assess labour, plant and material requirements to ensure commercially viable submissions.
Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and the internal project team throughout the tender process.
Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings where required.
Prepare and submit tender documents within agreed deadlines.
Support project handovers to the delivery team following successful tender awards.
Maintain accurate estimating records and stay up to date with current market rates, products and industry standards. Requirements
Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within the building services or M&E sector.
Strong understanding of electrical installations across commercial and residential projects.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Experience producing detailed estimates from first principles.
Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software such as Amtech, Trimble, ConQuest or similar.
