About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and practical Electrical Installation Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh . This hands-on role is crucial for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment across various client sites. You will ensure that all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with stringent design specifications and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical principles, practical installation experience, and excellent site management skills, contributing to the successful delivery of projects within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute the installation of electrical systems, including cabling, control panels, power supplies, and lighting.
- Perform testing and commissioning of installed electrical equipment and systems to verify functionality and safety.
- Interpret and implement electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications accurately.
- Ensure all installation activities comply with relevant Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Manage site resources, including materials and personnel, to ensure efficient project execution.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to identify potential challenges and propose effective solutions.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical installation and site supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and other relevant electrical standards.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures for electrical work, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Excellent practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
