About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join their team in Norwich, Norfolk, UK . This role is focused on the physical installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment for a variety of projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality workmanship. You will work closely with design engineers and project managers to bring electrical designs to life on-site. This is a practical role for an engineer who enjoys site-based work and is adept at problem-solving in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission electrical systems, components, and equipment according to design specifications and drawings.
- Perform wiring and termination of power and control circuits, ensuring all connections are secure and compliant.
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks and functional tests to verify installation integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical installation issues encountered on-site.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations during all installation activities.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and clients to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, JIB/ECS card).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical installation work.
- Strong practical knowledge of electrical installation techniques, wiring methods, and regulations (BS 7671).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with testing and inspection procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, essential for site-based operations in Norwich .
