Electrical Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on and experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join their team in Reading . This role involves overseeing and executing the installation of electrical systems on various project sites, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for managing site activities, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations. This is a vital role for delivering successful projects within the Thames Valley region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and carry out the installation of electrical equipment, cabling, and containment systems.
• Ensure all installations comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant health and safety legislation.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring work is carried out to schedule and quality standards.
• Perform testing and commissioning of newly installed electrical systems, documenting results.
• Liaise with project managers, clients, and site personnel to resolve any installation-related issues.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in electrical installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites.
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical drawings and technical documents.
• Experience with industrial electrical installations is advantageous.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage site activities effectively.
