Electrical Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a specialist in electrical infrastructure projects, is seeking a diligent Electrical Installation Engineer to join their team operating out of Portsmouth . This role involves overseeing and executing the installation of electrical systems across various project sites, ensuring adherence to strict quality and safety standards. You will be responsible for managing on-site activities, coordinating installation teams, and liaising with project managers and clients to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a practical understanding of electrical installations and a commitment to ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and cabling, according to project specifications and drawings.
• Ensure all electrical installations are carried out in compliance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and other relevant safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to verify the standard of work and identify any potential issues.
• Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow and integration of electrical works.
• Prepare and submit site progress reports, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related electrical problems that arise on-site.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering (e.g., C&G 2365, AM2).
• Proven experience (3+ years) in electrical site installation and supervision.
• Thorough understanding of electrical installation practices, testing, and commissioning procedures.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage teams effectively on site in Portsmouth .
