Electrical Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Electrical Installation Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth . This hands-on role is focused on overseeing and managing the safe and efficient installation of electrical systems and equipment across various projects. You will ensure that all installations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position requires a practical approach, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate effectively with site teams and stakeholders, playing a key role in the successful execution of critical infrastructure and building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the installation of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess installation requirements and progress.
• Coordinate with project managers, electricians, and contractors to ensure seamless workflow.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related issues or deviations from the plan.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, regulations, and health and safety legislation.
• Prepare and submit installation progress reports, including documentation of any changes or challenges encountered.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in managing and overseeing electrical installations on construction or industrial sites.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring regulations (e.g., BS 7671), and testing procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of site safety protocols and risk management.
• Good communication and leadership skills to effectively manage site teams.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately in Portsmouth .
