Electrical Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Electrical Installation Engineer to oversee and execute electrical installation projects in and around Portsmouth . This role is crucial for ensuring that electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with site teams, project managers, and clients to guarantee successful project delivery, from initial setup through to final commissioning. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with practical installation experience and a strong understanding of electrical systems in diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and execute the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control panels.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
• Conduct site surveys and risk assessments to ensure safe working practices.
• Manage and coordinate with electricians and technicians on-site to meet project deadlines.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and assist with system commissioning and testing.
• Ensure all installations comply with relevant electrical safety standards and building regulations.

Requirements

• Recognized electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical installation, preferably in a site-based role.
• Strong knowledge of the BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations .
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
• Excellent practical skills and a problem-solving attitude.
