About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the optimal functioning and safety of electrical systems and equipment at their facilities in Oxford . This role is critical for maintaining operational continuity and preventing downtime. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability and safety. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive engineer with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and a commitment to maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults, malfunctions, and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of spare parts.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with a relevant NVQ/C&G qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of electrical control panels , PLCs, motor control, and power distribution.
- Familiarity with PAT testing and relevant electrical safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
