Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their industrial operations team in Sheffield . This role is focused on ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems within a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the plant. This is a hands-on role requiring practical expertise and a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
• Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised certification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, JIB).
• Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing, fault finding, and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with control systems, PLCs, and variable speed drives.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
