Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their established team in Wolverhampton . This role is critical for the upkeep and reliability of electrical systems and machinery within their manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical equipment, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective maintenance strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and control panels.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including issues with motors, PLCs, and power distribution systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to guide troubleshooting and repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and implement strategies to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with current regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with relevant certifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent).
• Significant experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems , including PLCs, VFDs, and automation controls.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Must be comfortable with occasional site-based work and travel within the Wolverhampton area.
