Electrical Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and diligent Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their operational team in Reading . You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of electrical systems and equipment across their facilities. This hands-on role requires expertise in diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all safety standards. You will be a key contributor to maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of the company's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, machinery, and control panels.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems as required.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with current IET Wiring Regulations and other relevant safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Respond to emergency calls for electrical system failures and provide prompt resolution.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent trade apprenticeship.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within an industrial or commercial setting.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles, schematics, and control systems.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
